A welcome message from Mrs Sarah Mitchell, our Headteacher

Welcome to Great Chesterford Church of England Primary Academy. I am delighted and proud to be Head Teacher at such a caring, purposeful and vibrant school where pupils, staff, governors, parents and the school community work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another. Our school motto: ’Together We are Great’ is at the heart of all that we stand for. We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning – achieved through a combination of challenge, support, and praise – to ensure that all students fulfil their potential.

At Great Chesterford, you will find a caring Christian environment, with relationships built on mutual respect. Our pastoral system and breadth of opportunities help pupils to achieve beyond their expectations and develop a strong sense of responsibility for themselves, their peers and the wider world; our pupils develop skills for lifelong learning. At Great Chesterford Primary Academy, our children feel safe, happy and challenged. We are proud of our high standards and recognise that our achievements are supported and sustained through a strong partnership between home and school.

We hope this website is a useful introduction to our primary school. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or arrange a visit to see us at work during a normal school day. The teachers, children and I will be very pleased to welcome you.
